Spring Layers

Spring isn’t officially here, but it certainly feels like it here in California! It’s finally sunny and warm and with Daylight Savings, it’s bright until 7:30 PM! Leaving work while it’s still sunny outside is one of the best feelings – it makes the 45 minute commute home so much more enjoyable. With the warmer weather, I’ve been shedding my usual coat for some lighter layers.  Continue Reading

Layering Outerwear

cover

A few weeks ago, my friend, Lauren, got a pass to the Mountain Hardwear employee store. Mountain Hardwear is an outdoor clothing and equipment store. Since skiing season has begun, we were both looking to get some new gear at some great prices, and let me tell you, there were some great deals. I will say one thing though, the men’s section definitely had a better selection in terms of colors and design. I ended up shopping in the men’s section and picked up some great base layers and an awesome jacket that turned out to be great for layering.  Continue Reading

Overlooked Outerwear ft. The Vest

cover

The vest is a tricky piece to work with. Let’s state the obvious, they leave your arms completely exposed and it doesn’t matter if you have a North Face or Patagonia one, some part of your body will be cold. Not only has the comfy trend come back, but it came with some nice upgrades. Keep reading to see how I style a pair of my favorite faux leather culottes.  Continue Reading

Every now and again, I like to step out of my comfort zone of neutrals and dabble in a little color. Personally, I don’t think anyone can own too many neutrals because they go with everything, but sometimes I need a pop of color. This baby pink Zara coat added just the right amount of femininity for me and it made the outfit stand out from just another neutral outfit.

 Stay Chic!
