I have had my eyes on these Bean Boots for a few years now. Although they are a bit impractical for California, it has been a particularly rainy season and I wanted something a bit more compact than my Hunter boots. I’ve wanted Bean Boots since I lived in Massachusetts, but being a college student with no income, I couldn’t justify purchasing them. Also, they were so popular that they would constantly be on backorder. Fast forward to three years out of college (scary, I know) and I finally pulled the trigger on these heavy-duty boots that are perfect for winter. Continue Reading
If you have been following my blog for a while, you may have noticed that some of the pieces I wear are by Stacy Chang and how I rarely have direct links to those items. If you know me, you would know that Stacy Chang is my sister and most of the clothes I wear from her brand are her samples.
For the past three years, my sister has only been doing wholesale, so only a few stores carry her brand. Wanting her clothes to be more accessible to the general public, she launched an online shopping site called Shop The Lookbook. The whole concept behind Shop the Lookbook is that every season, the site will release a number of capsule collections featuring either her or a guest designer and she will only make a certain number of each item in the collection and once they sell out, they are gone forever. It’s similar to the [designer] x H&M collections – once something sells out, it’s out.
I’m really glad she made the leap from wholesale to e-commerce because this means I can quit my side job of selling her clothes out of the trunk of my car. I take trunk shows to a literal level and let me tell you, it is mad sketchy. All jokes aside, I wanted to make this post because my sister has worked day and night to launch this website and she works extremely hard in making sure her clothes are great quality, but still very affordable. She does everything from designing the pieces to visiting the factories to make sure that the final product is high quality. The list is endless – she truly is a one woman show.
So if you are looking to update your wardrobe or want to add some fresh pieces (she also designs accessories) for spring and summer, check out her website!
Since neither my sister nor I believe in buying anything full price, use the code APRIL30 to get 30% off your entire purchase. This code is only valid through April 30th.

Today is such an exciting day for me because this post is my 100th post on Spotted.Chic. This blog was created entirely on a whim in the middle of my PSYCH101 class and I can’t begin to thank all my readers and friends who have supported me through this journey. To show my appreciation, I wanted to have a little giveaway, so keep reading or scroll to the bottom of this post to see what I am giving away and how to enter.
I have been wearing this neon chartreuse jacket any chance I get because it’s starting to get to that point where I feel uncomfortable wearing such a loud color in public. To tone down the brightness of the jacket, I paired it with a simple grey chiffon tank with some cutouts in the shoulder/collarbone area and a pair of my favorite ripped boyfriend jeans.
I know I said that I loved my jacket, but I also LOVE these booties! If you read my August Hits and Misses post, you will know that I recently purchased these lovely booties and that I am in love with them. They are so comfortable and so versatile. The foundation of the outfit is pretty simple, but I think the jacket and shoes really pull it together and make it the outfit a lot more interesting.

I have come to the realization that although I have lived in the Bay Area for the majority of my life, I haven’t necessarily explored San Francisco and discovered what it has to offer. I have only been to a handful of restaurants/bars/clubs in San Francisco and I can’t remember the last time I saw, let alone crossed the Golden Gate Bridge. That’s just unknown territory.
My lack of knowledge of San Francisco has actually become a problem because friends will want to come visit me and while I’m extremely happy that they are coming, my immediate thoughts are, “Crap, what are we going to do.” Lucky for me, my parents know San Francisco very well and decided to educate me.
First stop was the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito. While the city of Sausalito is a little inconvenient to get to, it’s extremely pretty and relaxing on a beautiful day. It’s bustling with tourists and filled with small boutiques selling the most random, but unique nick-nacks. It was definitely relaxing to just walk around and peruse all the different shops.
What’s your favorite place to visit in San Francisco? Let me know!

I wish I was in Rome, but I guess the Getty Villa will have to do for now. I got really sick throughout the months of April and May – thus the lack of posts, but I am back! Before I got sick I made a quick trip to LA for a few days and got in a little sight-seeing.
Up to this day, I have never owned a maxi dress. They are cool in theory, much like all those “As Seen on TV” products, but for some reason, I can never make the commitment to buy one. I’ve tried on many, thinking that each time I’m going to have a moment of epiphany and I’ll somehow see what others have been raving about, and every time I end up handing it back to the nice person in the dressing room.
Well, the tables have turned because this maxi dress fails to make me look like I’m drowning in a sea of jersey material and is super soft and flowy. The open slit detail on the skirt hits right above my knee, so it gives the illusion that I have longer legs and the ruching detail on top slightly highlights my waist. I find that a lot of maxi dresses can be quite suffocating because it is so much material around your body, but this dress flows as you walk so even when it’s really hot, your legs aren’t constricted by lots of fabric. This dress will definitely be a staple in my closet for the summer!
What are you loving for the spring and summer? Let me know!
