Spring Layers

Spring isn’t officially here, but it certainly feels like it here in California! It’s finally sunny and warm and with Daylight Savings, it’s bright until 7:30 PM! Leaving work while it’s still sunny outside is one of the best feelings – it makes the 45 minute commute home so much more enjoyable. With the warmer weather, I’ve been shedding my usual coat for some lighter layers.  Continue Reading

Camel Coat and Stan Smiths

cover

When I’m in a rush (and I’m normally am), my go-to outfit is an oversized top, jeans, and a pair of sneakers. It’s really easy to put together and it’s super comfortable. This is the perfect outfit if you’re busy running around doing errands, but sometimes you need an outfit that looks just a bit more polished. Keep reading to see how I take my simple casual to the next level with just a few pieces.  Continue Reading

Layering Outerwear

cover

A few weeks ago, my friend, Lauren, got a pass to the Mountain Hardwear employee store. Mountain Hardwear is an outdoor clothing and equipment store. Since skiing season has begun, we were both looking to get some new gear at some great prices, and let me tell you, there were some great deals. I will say one thing though, the men’s section definitely had a better selection in terms of colors and design. I ended up shopping in the men’s section and picked up some great base layers and an awesome jacket that turned out to be great for layering.  Continue Reading

Fall Staple: The Camel Coat

cover

Ever since fall rolled around, I’ve been on the hunt for a good camel/tan coat. I’ve looked at all my usual spots: J. Crew, Banana Republic, Madewell, etc., but the quality never seemed to fit with the price tag. I then went to Forever 21 and H&M, and while cheaper than J.Crew and Banana Republic, I was still left unimpressed. I ended up finding exactly what I wanted at the most unlikely store and at a great price too! If you want to find out where I found this beauty, keep reading!  Continue Reading

Football for Dummies

This past Saturday was my second football game as a college student and it was only because Rice was playing for the title of USA Conference Champions.  It may have been cold and rainy, but I dragged by butt out of bed to support my university – can you smell the school spirit?

While I am the furthest thing from a football fan, the little knowledge I do know about football comes from playing Powderpuff (female flag football).  Let’s be real for a hot second and acknowledge that the only thing I truly learned from playing Powderpuff can be summed up in one word: DRAMA.  I kid…kind of.

Even though I couldn’t feel my toes by the end of the game, I am so happy that I attended because guess, what……WE WON!!! Can I get a woot woot?….*woot woot*

It was very cold on Saturday, so my final looked resembled that of the Michelin Man.  You could have punched me and I would not have felt a thing; that’s how many layers I was wearing.
