“What to wear to work today?” is a question I ask myself every morning. I work in the Biotech industry and if any of you work in Biotech, you know that in terms of fashion, it’s not the most glamorous. I’m a firm believer in wearing what makes you happy, but when you work in an office setting, you need to find a balance between what makes you happy and what is work appropriate. I once wore a pair of faux leather culottes, and let’s just say, I received number of confused looks. Since then, I’ve found a way to wear outfits that I love while simultaneously avoiding weird stares. So, if you want to see how I dress for work, keep reading. Continue Reading
It’s been raining constantly for the past couple of days, which is great for California, but not great when you have to commute to work. I love the rain if I can stay indoors and just watch Netflix on the couch. I don’t like the rain when I have to run errands and drive 45 minutes to work. To make rainy days more bearable, I like to stay really comfy. My go-to rainy day outfit is an oversized grandpa sweater with leggings. Continue Reading
Picture this: I’m standing in front of my closet, running late as usual, and my mind hits a wall – I don’t know what to wear. You might be thinking, “Dude, you’re running late. Grab a t-shirt, put on some pants and go.” Trust me, I wish my mind worked like that. Since I don’t like being late to work, I’ve figured out a way to get dressed quickly that works for me. Ready?
- Pick something you haven’t worn in a while – like this army shirt jacket that I’ve had for years and it needs some lovin’
- Pick something new – I’ve been loving this black J. Crew sleeveless blouse I got on sale because it’s simple and super comfortable
- Put on some pants
- Cross your fingers and pray that your outfit isn’t a disaster
Do you guys have any tips for getting dressed quickly? Let me know!

Every now and again, I like to step out of my comfort zone of neutrals and dabble in a little color. Personally, I don’t think anyone can own too many neutrals because they go with everything, but sometimes I need a pop of color. This baby pink Zara coat added just the right amount of femininity for me and it made the outfit stand out from just another neutral outfit.

Gotta get Chic on Friday. I think I’m funny…
Friday was here (and is gone), so I had to incorporate my favorite color, mint, into my outfit. If you live in a place that climatically resembles the amazon like I do, it is key to wear clothes that are breathable, or else you will be quite miserable.
These bright, pastel shorts are a perfect base. They can easily stand alone against any number of tops, so I picked an equally bright coral top. This combination is comfortable and breezy enough for hanging outside with your friends.
The simplicity of the outfit allowed me to be creative with my shoes, so why not break out some flashy Nike Dunks? These high tops are are comfortable and surprisingly versatile. They add an edge to what would be an otherwise plain but cute outfit. And besides, they make you feel like a BAMF.
