A Simple Valentine’s Day Outfit

Whether you’re single, dating, or in a relationship, Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Since Valentine’s Day is on a Tuesday this year, Dylan and I are going to Phoenix and meeting up with some of our old college friends. We’ve done the whole going out to a nice restaurant thing and I think after running the LA Marathon and going on a double date with my parents on Valentine’s Day last year, we want this year to be a bit more casual and fun.

I have been living for the whole shirt under cami trend. It’s very feminine, simple, and versatile. I can layer the cami over a sweater for the winter or a light t-shirt for the spring and summer. So, for this Valentine’s Day, I decided to pair a simple black silky cami with a dusty rose turtleneck. For me, the pop of color from the turtleneck makes the outfit a little bit more romantic and because it’s a muted color, it keeps the outfit very feminine – perfect for a casual Valentine’s Day.

I kept the whole outfit pretty simple because I wanted the attention to be on the shoes! These burgundy strappy sandals are one of my favorite statement shoes and I bust them out whenever appropriate. I think I wore them for my “Valentine’s Day” post last year. I don’t get to wear them that often because let’s bereal, how many opportunities are there where I can wear a pair of 4-inch, burgundy strappy sandals?

Answer: Not that many.

These shoes definitely aren’t that practical, but how could I have said “No” to them?

Do any of you own something you absolutely love, but can’t wear that often? Let me know in the comments below!

Stay Chic!
