All Laced Up

cover-3

Madewell had a huge sale at the beginning of this month and I kind of got sucked into it. I got an email from them almost every day saying there was an additional 30% off their sale and I did a pretty good job of controlling myself, but when I got the the additional 40% off email, I got a little too trigger happy. Keep reading to see how I styled some of the items I bought!

Lace-up items have been a huge trend lately. You see them on bodysuits, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc, but none of them really stood out to me until this sweater. I love the look of this sweater – it’s a little cropped and a little boxy. The fit is definitely not for everyone, but I absolutely love it. It’s a really thick material, so it keeps me super warm and because it’s boxy, I can add layers underneath it.

I layered the sweater on top of a Madewell Whisper Cotton Turtleneck. I’ve found that the Whisper Cotton shirts are the perfect layering pieces because they are just thin enough that they don’t bunch up underneath your layers. They are also really nice and easy to just tuck into your jeans for a really sleek and minimal look.

To make the outfit a tad more interesting, I wore a pair of crop kick jeans and some low ankle booties. Even though it’s been cold and raining in California, I’ve been loving a bare ankle.

This is one of my favorite outfits for winter because it’s really comfortable and all the layers really keep me warm.

What’s your favorite outfit for winter? Let me know!

Stay Chic!
