Fashion gifts are always a risk. They are extremely personal and they really expose how well you know someone and what you think their style is. My boyfriend tends to stray away from getting me anything fashion related, for a number of reasons. He thinks I have more clothes than I need and he doesn’t want to add to the clutter that is my closet. He also doesn’t want to get me something that I might not like or get a lot of wear out of. This past summer, however, he went to Europe and he got me a rather risqué piece of clothing – an all mesh top.
The main reason he got me this top was because it was from the Bjorn Borg store in Sweden and it’s the only stand-alone Bjorn Borg store in the world. I will say, this was a risky gift, but who doesn’t love a good mesh top? I particularly love this top because the mesh is on the thicker side so it has a athletic feel to it and it’s not entirely see-through.
Since this top is such a statement piece, I kept the rest of the outfit simple. I paired it with a crop bra top and some boyfriend jeans and called it a day. I kept the outfit pretty simple because I wanted all the attention to go to the top.
