So five weeks after I posted by review on ClassPass, they announce that they are cancelling their unlimited membership….awkward…. So what’s next?
ClassPass is moving all their members to their 10-class per month starting January 2017. As I stated in my previous post, 10 classes is simply not enough for me. Yes, you can buy “add-on” classes, but buying the additional classes I need is going to make ClassPass well over $200.
For members currently on the unlimited membership, ClassPass is going to add 10 extra classes on top of the 10-class membership for 3 months – so I’m going to have 20 classes per month until the end of March. 20 classes per month works for me, but unfortunately that’s not a membership option. *Take a hint, ClassPass!* So what’s next?
One word – Equinox. That’s right people, I’m joining a gym. Now, I’ve been a member of 24-Hour Fitness and yes, it is cheaper than Equinox, but the class schedule at 24-Hour simply doesn’t fit with my schedule. I also don’t feel particularly challenged at a 24 Hour group class. Equinox is definitely expensive, but it’s on par with the cost of ClassPass and the classes are very similar to those offered by ClassPass.
ClassPass was great while it lasted, but like the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end.” I discovered a lot of great studios through ClassPass and I’ll still go to those studios on occasion, but in terms of everyday workouts, Equinox will have to do.
It’s been a wild ride, ClassPass, but it’s time for us to part ways…at least for now.
If you’re on ClassPass, are you going to continue or leave? Let me know! Also, if you want to keep up to date on my workout situation, subscribe!
