Dressing Down

I’ve never been a dress kind of gal. I’ve always wanted to be one because dresses are just easy to wear. You don’t have to worry about matching your top to your bottom; you just slip on one item of clothing and you’re ready to go.

My sister made this dress for me a while back and I let it hang out in my closet while I decided how I wanted to style it. Dresses are a hit-or-miss situation for me because despite being 5’7″, I have very short legs and a very long torso so dresses can look a bit odd on me sometimes. This was one of those dresses, but it’s from my sister, so with Tim Gunn’s catchphrase “Make it work!” in my mind, I decided to do just that.

I decided to wrap a flannel around my waist to add some definition and dimension and to keep with the casualness of the outfit, I threw on some Nike sneaks.

Stay Chic!
