This past weekend, my friend, Lauren and I bought our season ski passes for Tahoe and Lauren wanted to buy some skies – an essential to the sport. There was an REI warehouse sale for members and we decided to wake up at 6 am on a Saturday and wait outside for an hour to see if we could score her some sweet skis at a discounted price.
I wasn’t thinking when I was packing my outfit, and I packed a leather jacket and a tank top thinking that I would be warm enough. I would soon realize my mistake at 6 am the next day. Since I was staying over at her apartment, I couldn’t change or add more layers. Instead, Lauren had an Ikea blanket on her bed and I just grabbed it and wrapped it around my neck – BOOM! Blanket scarf made!
Last season, blanket scarves had their moment. Everyone and their mom’s had this blanket scarf and I’m not going to lie, I purchased a few over-sized scarves myself. The name says it all. It’s a blanket and a scarf and no matter how you wear it, it looks good. It makes sense that a throw blanket would make a great scarf because again, blanket scarf. Enough said.
So before you buy one, look around your room for a blanket and you might save yourself some money.
