One Size Does Not Fit All

I’ve always been intrigued by Brandy Melville’s “one size fits all” type of clothing because in my mind, I’m thinking,”can one size really fit all?”

Last month, Marissa and I went to the Brandy Melville in the Marina area and while perusing the many crop tops in the store, I came across this really soft shirt dress. Marissa said that it fit her perfectly and was super comfortable. This should have been my clue that this dress was not going to fit me because I am a good 5 inches taller than Marissa and unless this was a scene from Sisters of the Traveling Dress, it wasn’t going to magically fit both us.

I was so caught up in the idea of having a really lazy shirt dress that I decided to buy it without trying it on. In a way, I was asking for it, right? I knew it wasn’t going to fit, but I bought it anyway. Well, I went home, tried it on, and surprise, surprise, it didn’t fit. In fact, it barely grazed the bottom of my butt. Being lazy and feeling no desire to return it, I decided to just turn it into a shirt. Although I will never wear this “dress” as it is intended to be worn, it’s still super soft and makes for a great loose top.

Stay Chic!
