Old School

Being fresh out of college, it’s very normal for people at work to poke fun at my age, especially since they are all 10+ years older than me. Whilst having one of these “age difference” conversations, the concept of mixtapes came up and everybody thought that since I was born in the 90’s that I didn’t know what a cassette tape was. To be fair, I didn’t know that in order to make a mixtape, you had to record the music directly from the radio, but I did know what a cassette tape was.

Ironically, I own a shirt with a cassette tape on it because I thought it had a vintage feel to it -kind of like a blast from the past vibe. It’s funny to think that when I wear this shirt to work now, it’s no longer a fashion statement, but rather a reminder to my co-workers as to just how young I am.

Stay Chic!
