Ever since I started working, I’ve gotten into the habit of working out at night after work. While I’m really happy that I have found time to excercise, it leaves me with the problem of either eating right after my workout or eating really late. To prevent me from overeating at dinner, I got into the habit of drinking either lots of water or a green juice/smoothie after my workout to help alleviate my appetite.
Since green juices can be pretty pricey, a green smoothie is a great alternative. I recently tried the Mint Chip Shake from Project Juice and I really enjoyed it, but I did not enjoy paying $9 for it, so I decided to try and make it myself at home. If you follow me on Instragram (@spottedchic), you might have seen a picture of a green smoothie (above). A lot of you liked it so I decided to share how I made it!
1 cup of baby spinach
1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
Mix all the ingredients into a blender and blend away! I like to put all the soft things at the bottom of the blender, so the spinach and mint leaves and then the frozen banana on top. I add the cacao nibs after I have blended all the other ingredients first.
