So even though this past weekend was a three-day weekend, I somehow procrastinated until Sunday afternoon to take these photos. While taking these photos, all I could think about was Lazy Sunday by Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell.
This is such a throwback song, but it perfectly described my Sunday. I woke up in the late afternoon on Sunday. I wish I had called up Parnell to see how he’s doing because if I had, my day would have shaped up to be quite productive. I would have macked on some cupcakes and watched Narnia. Okay, so maybe the only thing that Andy Samberg and I have in common is that we both woke up in the late afternoon on a Sunday.
I mention Lazy Sunday for several reasons. One, Andy Samberg is the dream. I think that’s enough of a reason to mention this song, but I’ll keep going. Two, I was having a very lazy Sunday and this song is, dare I say, a classic for any lazy day. I would gladly give up half of my iTunes library just to keep this one song on it. I don’t know what that says about me and my iTunes library, but that’s a whole other discussion. The last reason, and this is probably the most important and sappy one, is that there are a lot of memories attached to this song.
One of my best friends in college and I would sing this song non-stop and when I say we knew all the words to it, we knew all the words to it. Also, watching and hearing Andy Samberg sing about non-sensical things was, and still is, a great way to de- stress. Finally, even without the HD aspect of the video, you can tell that Andy Samberg is a keeper. Props to his wife.
