On Being an Alumni

How does it feel to be in the “real world” and an alumni?  These are the questions you should be prepared to answer if you visit your alma mater.  Being generally frazzled all the time, I was a little underprepared.  My answer to all of these questions you ask? Old.  That’s how I feel.

Granted that I am at the ripe age of 21 (turning 22 in a couple of days), I feel a little bit like the crazy aunt you see every Thanksgiving and all you can do is smile and nod at them.  Walking around campus and my college, I was perplexed on how I recognized only a few faces.  What was worse were the people who recognized you, but don’t say anything, so you just awkwardly make eye contact and end up in a very competitive staring contest.  So, instead of facing my imminent future like an actual adult, I’m going to rewind a couple months to when I wasn’t an alumni.
