Lumberjack Days

With the holidays just around the corner, one can always guarantee that holiday parties will follow suite.  Now, I like dressing up for a fancy party as much as the next person, but sometimes, it’s nice to eat some Christmas ham without having to worry about dry cleaning or going to the bathroom to touch-up your makeup.  You feel me on this one?

I like to be somewhat comfortable before, while, and after eating copious amounts of food.  A top that hides my inevitable food baby, Alfred, is also preferable.  My solution: a loose flannel shirt.

Casual Christmas

From left to right: Ksubi Biker Jacket, Woolrich Flannel Shirt, Nibbuns Chiffon Vest, Burberry London Duffle Coat, Shoemint Suki Booties, J Brand Skinny Jeans, Nars Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duo, Tarte Glamazon Lipstick in Inspired, Essie Nail Polish in Bordeaux

Now, a flannel shirt can give off the “I’m a lumberjack” vibe, but adding a light chiffon vest adds a slight feminine touch.  Then to top off the outfit, a leather jacket will not only add a nice edge to the outfit, but also some dimension and texture.  If you want a more classic look, a duffle wool jacket is the perfect choice.

For the bottom, I kept it simple with some skinny black jeans, and a pair of stacked-heeled leather booties.  You are now comfortable enough to eat whatever your heart desires.

Stay Chic!
