Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain: Review and Swatches

Last month Revlon came out with their Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, which look very similar to Tarte LipSurgance.  Both have plastic packaging and are mechanical and retractable!  You simply twist the end of the pencil and more product will come out.  Both products also have the same consistency and peppermint smell.

I’m not going to lie: Revlon was not one of the brands that I made a beeline for at the drugstore.  I’ve tried some of their matte lipsticks, mascaras, and eyeshadows, and I was not impressed.

Recently, however, Revlon has really stepped up their game and has become one of my favorite makeup brands.  I’m in love with my Revlon Lip Butter in “Berry Smoothie,” but my new favorite lip products for the summer are these Revlon Balm Stains.
The collection is comprised of mostly bright or dark colors, so it’s perfect for summer.  If you are looking for an everyday natural color, however, I wouldn’t recommend this collection.  The ones that look the most natural are Honey and Sweetheart.  Sweetheart gives me that “your lips but better” look and I have been using it everyday.

From top to bottom: Honey, Darling, Lovesick, Sweetheart, Rendezvous

Honey – A mauve-y plum color.  This is the most wearable shade in the collection.  If you have darker or very pigmented lips, this color may not show up on you.

Darling – A pale lilac color.  Gives a slight lilac color to your pout without making your lips purple.

Lovesick – A hot pink with a plum-y undertone.  This one was surprisingly super-pigmented.  My lips were so bright after applying it.

Sweetheart – A true bright pink.  This color complemented my lips perfectly.  If you have redder lips, this will enhance rather than cover your natural lip color.

Rendezvous – A bright coral orange.  Comes off more coral than orange on the lips.

In terms of longevity of the stain, they definitely stain the lips for a good 4/5 hours.  The darker/brighter colors seem to last all day.  I like licking my lips, and the Revlon Lip Stains still stay on for hours.  They have a balmy consistency and are pretty well pigmented.

If you’re looking to try some fun colors that won’t cost you an arm and leg, then definitely try some of these colors.

You can find these products at CVS, Walgreens, Target, Ulta, and any other stores that carry Revlon products.  The Revlon Lip Stains retail for about $8, but a lot of drugstores will have BOGO 50% on Revlon products.

Stay Chic!
