Now that summer is well on its way, I thought I would share what I’m doing to take care of my skin. Houston summers are hot and humid, so I had to make some changes to my skincare routine. I have combination/oily skin. In the summer, I tend to be on the oily end.
Starting with my cleanser, I’ve been using Kiehl’s since High School, and it has done wonders for my skin. Currently I have been using the Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser with my Clarisonic. Since this cleanser has Amazonian White Clay in it, it helps soak up the oil, but it doesn’t dry out the skin.
Moving on to toners, I use Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner. I like this toner because it refreshes the skin and the alcohol does not strip the skin. I transfer the toner to a spray bottle, so I can just spray my face in the morning and at night and just dab it with a cotton pad.
Finally, for a moisturizer, I use Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion. My face gets a bit more oily here in Houston, so I use this so I’m not adding any excess oil to my face.
After moisturizing, I have to put on sunscreen. Never forget about sunscreen! I like doing outdoor activities, so sunscreen is a must for me. I’m currently using Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunblock SPF 55. This sunscreen is made specifically for the face, so it won’t clog your pores and it will help keep your skin clear.
If you are looking for a new cleanser or moisturizer, I do recommend trying Kiehl’s because they won’t try and sell you anything you might not need and they are more than willing to give you any sample for you to try. My first time at a Kiehl’s store was when I was breaking out and I told the lady my skin type and the problems that I have and she immediately suggested the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser and I have been using it ever since. I also like Kiehl’s because they didn’t tell me that their products are “miracle” products. They just told me if I was consistent with using my face routine, my face would slowly clear up and once it was clear, the routine would help keep it clear. Anyways, I hope this helped!
If you want me to try out and review other products, just leave a comment.
I will also be doing a face masque post, so comment if you want me to try any masques!
